A few years ago we had stations playing some of the biggest names in rock to date. Today the stations have shut down. The stations left are claiming to switch over to an “alternative” format. This format is electro, its all computer generated instruments. Its not the listeners who are picking this format, its the advertisers and the profit building machine that is radio today. The machine has shoved this music down our throats and has given us no alternative. Don't you think its time to take are music back?
Even the mainstream bands are being backdoor-ed. Even bands like stone sour have music videos out for a year and only 145000 views? Its because the machine wants to move to cheaper music. Its a lot cheaper to make melodies on your laptop then actually learn how to play all the instruments. Personally the fact hank III will record all the instruments played by him and release them says a lot. The machine whats a bunch of radio station running off of a play-list with only recorded personality. Now tell me are they cutting costs to save money or are they greedy?
Its cheaper to have 20 stations on the same format. Think if 20 lemonade stands owned by the same company have different recipes for lemonade. Well the lemonade is liked by all the customers across the state. Then the company takes all the stands and makes them have the same product. To top it off this product was made to satisfy everyone not relying on individual input per area. So you have a lemonade that is okay enough to drink when you see it. But you have a favorite lemonade stand and this company is buying up all these locations. So you start buying the chain lemonade. Well its great for a short time but you still miss the old lemonade mom and pop stores. Well the reason the company desired to change because its cheaper to have the same format. If you know what exactly is being used, you know your costs.
In short its time for a change. Where will this change come from? The only place it can, all of us. We have to stand up and demand are music back.
