We the People
of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity do ordain and establish this (do you know what document?)
for the United States of America.
It would seem that "We the People" have become but the minions in a new modern day Feudal System consiting of "We the Serfs", ruled by the Burgars, the Princes, the Dukes, the Counts the Marquis and the other various Lords of the Realm. Is it any wonder that there has been an upwelling of rebelion against the established Political System and the interests it supports. It seems that the various "Lords" can be bought and sold to the highest bidders. Was that not why the Rebilion against the British King and Parliament took place in these United States?
To start, stealing from the rich to give to the poor is still theft, as is stealing from those who work. Distributing the fruits of their labor to benefit those who do not work is not justice; nor is squandering those monies on all manner of random regulation because it seemed like a good idea at the time, or was based on some unsubstantiated psudo science. These practices neither insure domestic tranquility nor promote the general welfare, but rather impede everything we do including (but not limited to) conducting our lives, starting and conducting business, managing our lands (if any) and other assets plus many others. This is not to say that the general welfare of those who are truly disadvantaged, or harm done to environments where people must survived must be rigerously addressed and mitigated to the greatest extent possible.
In these United States, the power to govern and to represent us is supposedly derived from "We the People", not from those who consider themselves to be the "Lords of the Realm". Somehow, "We the People" seem to have lost control of the power afforded us in the documents providing for the establishment of these United States. This has been done in a clandestine manner by those who we have elected to serve us; vote for me and I will give you .........; for the poor: money fame and fortune; for the rich: we will do your bidding if you give money to keep us in office; for the workers: pay us (what we are taxing you) and be happy with what you have. All in all, we have become what appears to be a three tiered Feudal System with the rulers at the top, the working serfs in the middle, and those who are given subsistance in exchange for their support of the rulers at the bottom.
We are a Constitutional Republic and as such, select/elect representatives to convey our preferences/wishes to the highest tiers of our collective governments; Local, State and Federal. This fact means that we must ensure that those chosen truly represent the will of "We the People". That of course will cause some people disappointment, but that is the nature of a Republic if not all governments. The fact that spurious causes, ambition and cravings for power and wealth, which are part of human nature, sometimes subvert the "will of the people" has to a large extent abrogated the precepts of the government of "We the People". Since this government was created, self cravings have gradually crept into the hallowed halls of government including the Party System; but the Party System is a topic eor another time.
