5.Hotel Meliã. Located off W. Peachtree St. This place could be better for the area. There are a lot of bad hotels in the Atlanta area; this is not the worst but bad enough to make number five. The lobby could be compared to Abercrombie and Fitch because of all the air freshener. The lovely balconies, that have been sealed, are unusable. The beds are fine but old. All in all, not a horrible place. The thing that makes it so terrible is the charging of five star hotel price when it's only a 3 star hotel.
4. The Stratford Inn. Located off of Parkway Dr NE in Atlanta. This place is not much to be desired. Reviews of “bed bugs” and “creepy loiterers” plague this once four star hotel. One reviewer even said “This is not a hotel. It appears to be a government run rehab facility”. Mold growing on the walls, holes in the wall and drug dealers in the lobby make this hotel make the list at number four.
3. Days Inn Atlanta Northwest. Located off Northside Dr, this seedy hotel is located near another strip club. With a sign depicting a needle and light bulb you know this place is meant as a “dope head motel”. One patron stated “a maintenance man went over during the day and sprayed while my daughter (18) was there and told my daughter to stay in the room because there were people smoking meth in another room”. With more references to bed bugs, this makes the list at number three.
2. Fairview Inn Six Flags. Located off the (in)famous Fulton Industrial Blvd., across the street from a nice selection of strip clubs, makes this number two. With its great selection of hookers, pimps and crackheads, this is one of the worst hotels you could possibly stay at. Infestations of roaches and bed bugs plague the hotel built in 1974. I believe this hotel has not been cleaned or updated since 1985. If you have to stay here I recommend bringing your own sheets and lots of bed bug spray.
1. Bilbo's Motel. This motel, located west of Atlanta in Douglasville, is the worst motel in the area. Crack heads, geek monsters, deadbeats and scum inhabit this place. The hotel itself is old, run down and terrible. If the hotel is vacant they will take EBT as payment. Mostly extended stay (because people get stuck there), most inhabitants repair the rundown rooms themselves rather than call maintenance (maintenance as in crack head who lives there for free). Stay away from this place at all costs!
